ANTHELMINTICS

Anthelmintics are a group of antiparasitic drugs that expel parasitic worms (helminths) and other internal parasites from the body by either stunning or killing them and without causing significant damage to the host. Anthelmintics are used to treat infected animals. Most anthelmintics generally have a wide margin of safety, considerable activity against immature (larval) and mature stages of helminths, and a broad spectrum of activity. Nonetheless, the usefulness of any anthelmintic is limited by the intrinsic efficacy of the drug itself, its mechanism of action, its pharmacokinetic properties, characteristics of the host animal, and characteristics of the parasite.

ANTHELMINTICS

Albex plus®

Albendazole 10% Suspension. Broad spectrum multi-purpose anthelmintic for the control of mature and developing immature forms of gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and adult liver fluke in cattle and sheep. The product is also ovicidal against fluke and roundworm eggs.

Fenazol®

Oxfendazole 2.265% Suspension. Treatment and control of mature and immature gastrointestinal round worms: Ostertagia spp., Haemonchus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Nematodirus spp. (Nematodirus battus), Cooperia spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Chabertia spp., Capillaria spp. and Trichuris spp.; Lungworms: Dictyocaulus spp.; Tapeworms: Moniezia spp, used in cattle and sheep.

Medamid®

Rafoxanide 3% Suspension. Treatment of acute and chronic liver flukes infestation in cattle and sheep, also effective against larval stages of nasal bot fly in sheep. Used for treatment of chronic respiratory disease (CRD Complex), Colibacillosis, Coryza, Sinusitis and Airsacculitis, effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms: staphylococci, streptococci, E. coli, Klebsiella, Clostridium sp., Rechettsia and Mycoplasma sp. and some protozoa in poultry.

Medasol®

Tetramisole HCl 30% WSP. Anthelmintic that is used to control enteric and pulmonary worms. It also controls many parasitic nematodes including the extremely pathogenic species, indicated mainly for the treatment of Trichostrongyloidosis, Bunostomosis, Oesophagostomosis, Dictyocaulosis and Ascaridiasis in sheep, goats and cattle, and Ascaridiasis, Heterakidiosis and Capillaridosis in poultry.

Vermac®

Ivermectin 0.08% Liquid. Anthelmintics used for the treatment and control of gastro-intestinal nematodes and lungworms (Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia circumcincta, Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Nematodirus spp., including N. battus, Strongyloides papillosus), mature and immature stages in sheep and goat.

Zanide Super®

Levamisole HCl 3%+ Oxyclozanide 6% suspension. Broad spectrum anthelmintic used for the treatment and control of both gastro-intestinal and pulmonary nematode and adult liver fluke infestations, used for the treatment of gastro-intestinal and lungworm infestations (mature and developing immature forms) such as: Lungworms: Dictyocaulus spp; Gastro-intestinal worms: Haemonchus spp., Ostertagia spp., Nematodirus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Cooperia spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., in cattle and sheep.

Zanide®

Levamisole HCl 1.5% + Oxyclozanide 3% Suspension. Broad spectrum anthelmintic for use in the treatment and control of gastrointestinal and pulmonary nematode and adult liver Fluke infections in cattle and sheep only.
